My Perspective

LOVE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE

One of the best soccer player I ever played with wasn’t flashy nor complicated. He just scored goals. He scored them with his knee. He scored them with his shoulder. He scored them with his face. And occasionally, he scored them with his feet. The point is - he scored . . . many, many times. But he also shot many, many times. He shot every time there was a chance. He shot with whatever part of his body happened to be near the ball. He wasn’t concerned about the complexities of striking the ball on the outside of the laces to attempt to get the ball to swerve into the upper corner just under the crossbar. He was one of the best soccer players I’ve ever seen. He couldn’t do a lot of tricks, he wasn’t exceptionally fast, he couldn’t shoot the ball all that hard - but he was the most valuable player on the field. He scored goals.

Sometimes I think we wait. We don’t score “goals” because we are too concerned about the perfection of the shot.

Love God.   Love People.

What if we decided to love God every time we had the chance? Even if the situation isn’t perfectly set up for you to love God - you just love Him because you have the chance to.

Here’s the bottom line. We’re not looking for you to be perfect. Neither is God. We just want you to shoot. You’re never going to score a goal if you don’t take advantage of the opportunities. How knows, your “ugliest” shot might be the thing that changes someone’s life for eternity.
